SCF Association League Winners

The Annual General Meeting of the Southern Croquet Federation was held at Winchester on Saturday, 19th March 2011.  Croquet players, Alan, Roy, Robin and Richard all attended and had an excellent day out renewing acquaintance with other players in the Federation and also joining in the celebrations for the opening of the new indoor tennis courts at the Winchester Club.  Richard in particular enjoyed himself chatting to LTA Officials.

As was announced at the pre-season meeting, there has been a substantial revision of the golf croquet league, with the format now being two doubles and four singles and with the introduction of a handicap league.  We hope to be able to enter more teams in the future.

 The golf croquet level trophy has been in Ryde's hands for quite a few years, but this had to be returned this year after going out at the semi final stage in 2010.  The visitors did not come back empty handed however, as for the first time ever the Association handicap team has won the Southern Federation League.  Pictured are: Alan, Richard and Roy receiving the trophy from Chairman Martin Brandt. 

Thanks and congratulations to the full team of Phillip Kennerley, Roy Tilcock, Alan Truckell, Pam Sim, Richard Harris, Chester Watson and Harry Oldham.  They will now represent the Southern Federation in the National Secretary's Shield against the other seven winners of Federation Association handicap leagues.
